What FBA and FBM actually mean
With FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon), Amazon stores your inventory, then picks, packs and ships every order, handles returns and customer service, and unlocks the Prime badge. With FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant), you ship orders yourself or through a third-party partner, keeping control of packaging, branding and margin. When FBA wins
FBA usually wins for small, light, fast-moving and standardized products where the Prime badge drives conversions and you want logistics fully hands-off. When FBM wins
FBM tends to win for large, heavy, slow-moving or high-storage-fee products, and when you want full control of the unboxing and branding.
